Here’s my game review for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. In my opinion, this game is only a side story to Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Code Veronica is the true sequel to Resident Evil 2. Yet this is still a fun game to play with. The only playable character is Jill Valentine from the original game. Although you will be able to play Carlos Olliviera for a short amount time. You start of on the street of Racoon City. Like RE2, your initial goal is to proceed to the police station. Along the way you’ll meet Carlos Olliviera, a member of Umbrella’s mercenary group. He’ll eventually convince you to go with them to the clock tower because that is their extraction point. During the course of the game, you’ll encounter Nemesis several times. Nemesis is sort of an upgradded Tyrant which has been programmed by Umbrella to hunt STARS members. He is a bit annoying because can he follow you through rooms or doors. Nemesis also will be able to interfere with your plan of escaping through the clock tower and will infect Jill of the T-Virus. This is when you will play as Carlos to get the vaccine from the hospital. After Carlos is able to give Jill the vaccine, Jill continues through the park and through the underground laboratories. And just like almost all Resident Evil games, you’ll need to escape within the given time.
As you might have noticed from the above game description, the game is actually short. The thing that makes this game long is the amount of backtracking and that’s the only thing that I hate about this game. The game is still competitive compared to other games. I replayed this game on easy mode, and still there are times that I died because of my over confidence. 🙂 If you replay the game several times, you will be able to unlock several epilouges about the other characters from the previous two games. This game also features some contol addons that are not available from the other RE games. This time around you will be able to turn 180 degrees and you can also dodge attacks.
RE3: Nemesis is actually the first Resident Evil game that I ever played and when I’m done I was still looking for more so I eventually played the other games. So far the only Resident Evil games from the main series that I haven’t played is Code Veronica and RE5. Hopefully I can play Code Veronica within this week so I can give a review.
