2009 Year of the movies

This is a really good year for movie goers. Since the start of the year,  there have been quite a number of good films being released. There was Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, Taken, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, Watchmen, Race to Witch Mountain, Fast & Furious, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek and Angels & Demons just to name a few. It gets more interesting as we approach the middle of the year. Here are some that I feel are most anticipated.

Terminator Salvation

Christian Bale is back this time not dressed in a black rubber suit and cape. He is John Connor on this new Terminator movie. Set in the future, John Connor must ally with an unlikely being in order to defeat their enemies. I actually thought Terminator was supposed to be only a trilogy. but hey, it doesn’t hurt to see our machine friends back for another fight.

Drag Me To Hell

A girl was given an ancient curse and must go through all lengths to get rid of it. Directed by Sam Raimi, director of Spider-man, we can all expect a lot of chills and jumps on this one. I hope it will have a good story to keep the audience interested.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Our Autobot friends is back for another action packed movie. This time facing a new set of powerful Decepticons. The first movie’s effects really wowed me and I hope this is as good as the first one or even better. Hey Meagan Fox alone is a good reason to watch this.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Our prehistoric friends are back. Both kids and adults will love this movie. If you did not watch the first two, then you’ve missed a lot.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Another Harry Potter movie? Unfortunately this one never get old. As the series moves on, the story becomes more interesting and darker. We also see the actors grow onto their roles. I wonder what the actors will do after the series is over. It will sure feel a bit odd to see them on other film roles.

G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra

I’m not really a big fan of the G.I. Joe series when I was a kid. But as long as the movie contains good action scenes that’ll do for me.

There are a lot more coming in the following months so my stomach will get a lot popcorns digested this year.🙂
