Yesterday was a very sad sad day. It was the day that our cousin “Myka” was brought to her final resting place. All family members and close friends wore white shirt were “Justice for Mizzielle Jamyka Cruz Gutierrez” is printed in front. From their house, her remains were moved to San Pablo Chapel.

The Mass was hosted by St. Paul University Manila, and a bus full of ‘Paulinians’ was also there. Everybody was emotional as everybody still couldn’t believe this terrible tragedy that struck our family. We always see news about people being killed or dying but we never though such brutal thing could happen to one of our family members. Specially to someone that is very young and have a promising future ahead of her. After the mass, her remains were taken to Manila Memorial Park, Sucat, Paranaque.

Family, Friends, Neighbors, Schoolmates, Collegues, Friends of friends and even people who don’t really know her at first but was moved by her story, joined together to escort her body while being taken to her final resting place. Some were holding banners that show her pictures and other banners that say the message “Justice for Myka!” or “Justice for Mizzielle Jamyka Cruz Gutierrez”. People were willing to walk several kilometres as a sacrifice and to share the pain that she had suffered. This is our way of spreading the story of Myka to other people and so people can help us find justice for her.

When we arrived at the location, final prayers were given and people were given the chance to view Myka one last time. Many people shed their tears, shared their prayers and sympathies. Some guys like me were also not able to hold back our tears but it was nothing compared to the pain felt by Myka’s Father, Mother and brothers. White balloons were released into the air as Myka’s remains were being lowered down and flowers were thrown to her final resting place.

Thank you to all who paid their respects, and shared their prayers and sympathies to our family. We hope you will continue your prayers so that we can find the Justice that Myka deserves.

My cousin Mizzielle Jamyka Cruz Gutierrez or “Myka” (age 21), was brutally murdered by her boyfriend Kristoffer Von Moraleja (age 19) on his own house at Pasay City. My cousin was stabbed 10 times on different parts of the body, and I believe 3 of those went through her heart.

Myka is a kind, sweet, soft spoken and a hard working person even working at the same time while studying to help provide for her family and for her studies. She was about to graduate this March 2011. She have such promise and bright future ahead of her. But all that was taken from her when she was murdered by the very person she trusted, her boyfriend Kristoffer Von Moraleja.

Safe: Blueprint

This is a good routine. But aside from the hand threading section, nothing really stood out for me. And for having 4 girls on their crew, the booty shaking was not good. Even Lil Mama said that it was funny to see them booty shake as it appears that the body is the one moving and not their asses.

Battle: Poreotix vs Hype 5-0

Poreotix

It was a really good performance for them. Almost to the same level as their disco challenge except for Jet Li’s mistake. They brought in their bboy moves back and again added their trademark humour to the performance. I’m not sure if many had notice, but this is actually the 2nd time that Jet Li made a mistake. He made a mistake also during the Umbrella performance. But since he was behind the others, nobody seemed to notice.

Hype 5-0

This was definitely the best performance of the night. They didn’t really focus that much on the challenges. I mean they did them but their main focus is to show what Hype 5-0 is all about. And they came out firing! Even calling out Blueprint and Poreotix on their performance. I have a feeling they kinda knew that they are going to be eliminated.

In the end the judges obviously picked Poreotix to be saved. Don’t get me wrong, I like Poreotix. But since this was a battle, Hype 5-0 should be the one that has been saved. But it all comes down to Blueprint being put as the top vote getter crew. If Poreotix or Hype 5-0 was the top vote getter crew, Blueprint’s routine wouldn’t have stand a chance vs Poreotix and Hype 5-0.

Last Chance

Blueprint

It was good, but it’s not great. Definitely not as bad as as Beat Freak’s Freak the Dream or Status Quo’s Circus. I like the intricate movements, but again nothing really stood out.

Poreotix

Okay this one definitely needs some explanation. A lot of their fans would definitely notice that they redid most of their routine from the past years and some were a bit disappointed. Now before you get mad at Poreotix let me explain this to you. This is actually is sort of their best hits compilation which they did not only to share it to everyone on national tv but also to serve as a tribute to their fans. They showed everyone what they’ve been up to the past years by displaying their trademark moves. And as Charles said on an interview, they started Poreotix with the Tetris routine, they ended ABDC with the Tetris routine. And last time I check, a lot of their fans are requesting for them to do this routine on the show. This routine is very intricate, detailed and technical. You’ll have to watch closely what they’re doing to understand. I like it a lot although it seemed kinda weird to watch it on a different music. I like these routines better with their original mixes.

Rant

I mean come on MTV! Get real! I will admit that I like Blueprint over Hype 5-0. But come on?! Poreotix and Hype 5-0 got massive fanbase. Not a lot of people was voting for Blueprint and all of sudden they are the top vote getter?! This episode was definitely fixed to save Blueprint and let Poreotix and Hype 5-0 battle. Even the battle is fixed if you noticed. Hype 5-0 definitely have the best performance of the night.  Even better than Poreotix(Poreotix did good by the way). Again they fixed it to have a West vs West battle so they can have an East vs West finale! It’s like Season 1 all over again when Status Quo was saved and Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern have to battle.

Then Let’s get on with the review.

Hype 5-0

They are the first save crew and it doesn’t surprise me at all because of their growing fan base. I’m not sure what Omarion is seeing ‘the same choreography’. I mean the moves actually change and they even showed us some ticking on this routine. Maybe what Omarion is seeing is the same high energy style which is natural since it’s their trademark. I’m not sure if the judges sees this, but they also do isolation and tutting on their previous routines. I actually like them more than Jungle Boogie. The only performance I like from Jungle Boogie is from last week and maybe a little this week.

Poreotix

Awesome performance! JC touched on their choreography again saying it wasn’t their best but is enough. Then the crowed started booing him once again. JC didn’t really said anything bad but is simply asking Poreotix to bring more dancing into their performance. But I think it’s kinda difficult since you only have about a minute to perform and parts of your routine will be taken up by the magic trick display. So I think Poreotix actually did a good job by balancing the magic trick and the dancing which is pretty cool still. I mean did you see that robot running man that dumbo did? Pretty sick!

Blueprint Cru

A very good performance. Blueprint suddenly summoned their inner Static Noyze by performing a theatrical routine. Natalie is still pretty as always and the upside down choreography is pretty dope! Only comment I have is the magic trick was not that good. I mean why do they have to cover Natalie up before and after the trick. None of the other crews covered their act.

Jungle Boogie

Probably the best high energy dancing of the night. But, lamest magic trick of the night as well. Why do they have to use some sort of fabric disk? Their intro video showed the trick is possible with just a plain glass. They were eventually sent home by the judges.

Season 5 Winner Prediction

With Poreotix’ huge fan base, it may be Hype 5-0 and Blueprint on the bottom 2 next week. Blueprint Cru may moved on to the finals since I think they are better than Hype 5-0 and the judges love them as well. So it may came down to Poreotix vs Blueprint in the finals. But since Canada can’t vote and America is not completely embracing Blueprint, Poreotix may get the win!
